What have we gotten ourselves into?

I have had so many stories to tell about Avery lately, I thought I should put them all in one place.

* How when we are at my parent's house, she refuses to go to the bathroom on any toilet but Nanna’s heated seat one.
* How whenever I ask her to do something she’ll say “yes mother” all forlornly, hang her head and shuffle her feet.
* How she dances better than I do and knows how to use her hips.

* How she pointed to every princess item in the Disney Store and said “Oh, mother, please” all dramatic.
* Her new use of the words “actually”, "never" and “turquoise”.
* Her need to sleep with all of the following: a stuffed dolphin, a plastic Little People dolphin, three little rubber pink octopuses (octopi?) a stuffed bunny, a baby doll in a moses basket (with all the accessories) and some pink socks that she likes to wear as gloves.

* The fact that it is already nearly impossible to say no to her, especially when she looks at you with those big brown eyes and bats those super long eyelashes.
* How she loves to make up songs while playing the ukulele. They consist of her picking an object (mostly her dolls) and singing it’s name over and over.
* How she wants to marry Gavin in the princess castle.

* How much she loves pink, like seriously loves pink, like it’s almost scary how much she loves it.
* How much she loves to help me, especially with the laundry.
* How she calls Briella "Ledda".
* How she got her own nail polish kit from Bethany for Christmas and managed to paint one set of toenails before any of us noticed, and she actually did a really good job.

* How she is the Queen of delaying the inevitable. When we try to get her to bed she says she’s hungry, then she needs water, then she needs a cuddle and a hug and a kiss. Then she pulls out the big guns and says (while almost sobbing) “I just want you.”
* How she knows how to pull on the heartstrings to get what she wants – just ask my parents and anyone else who tried to leave her before she’s ready for them to.
* How she's our very own Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. She can switch from impossibly sweet to downright nasty in the blink of an eye.

Ben and I say it every day - we are in trouble - especially if her sister is anything like her.

I loved reading this! With your kids and mine so far away from each other, this stuff helps me feel like we're still connected. What a little personality she has! And I LOVE the "Yes Mother" bit. Classic!!!
