My odd pregnancy craving

With my first two pregnancies I didn't really have any super weird cravings, in fact I barely nested with either of them. I realized something in the last few weeks concerning baby #3 and it has me a little freaked out.

See I am OBSESSED with washing my hands. I can't get enough of it. I love the feeling of lathering up with liquid soap. I knew I had a problem when I was washing my hands in front of James and he asked why I had to wash them THREE TIMES! I don't understand it. I seriously look for opportunities to wash my hands in different places to try out new soaps, and don't even get me started on the foamy kind. I've always been kind of a neat freak but never a germaphobe so I can only assume that this has something to do with my pregnancy.

The other thing is that I am obsessed with cleaning products. I had to buy dish soap the other day and I ended up getting two because they both smelled so good. I enjoy cleaning my bathrooms because of the lemon scrubbing bubbles I use, in fact I look forward to it. And I love the smell of Windex, not that I inhale it, that would be unhealthy :)

The thing that bugs me the most about these obsessions is that they are getting in the way of more important things, like buying this little girl some clothes. Whenever I'm at the store I spend more time in the cleaning products section than the clothes. I've lost my ability and drive to buy kid's clothes and that scares me. Of course Ben is thrilled, a bottle of Windex costs infinitely less than an outfit, but the fact of the matter is, this isn't me. At least I have clean bathrooms and windows.

That cracks me up! When I was first pregnant with this one I had just bought a new shower curtain liner at the Dollar Tree or something. I thought that thing smelled so good. Something about the newness of it I guess.

That's awesome. I have a good friend who has a similar pregancy craving, she sniffs dish soap when she's pregnant. Not like inhale sniff but puffs a little out of the top and smells it real good. We make fun of her but I'm sure she would be excited (and a little relieved) to know that she's not the only one.

Now go out and buy that baby some clothes!!! (I'm sure Avery doesn't have ANY to pass down!)

That's a funny craving! Just don't start EATING the cleaning products and I think you'll be OK.

that's rather funny! I like your humor!

I don't think I've ever met you, but I'm a long time ago friend of the Davis family (ok, so namely Arianne) back when they lived in Southfield.

Congratulations on baby #3!!

Interesting craving. I think you new one will be a neat freak and will love nice aroma's.

You and Ben have adorable kids. I see the family resemblance to Arianne's kids.
