Utah part 2

After leaving Snowbird we drove down to stay with Ben's sister. Arianne and Kelly had recently finished renovating their beautiful home and we couldn't wait to see it (and them of course!) The kids got along famously and we were sad to leave them. My kids are so spoiled to have so many cousins, aunts and uncles that love them.

We were excited to hit up Lagoon while we were there. Unfortunately, I got sick that day so I got to spend the day in bed while everyone else was off having fun.

Ben's oldest sister Hilde came to Utah for a little bit as well. One of my favorite things is seeing Ben with his sisters. There is quite a lot of laughing that happens.

Of course we couldn't go to Utah and not see Shauna! We missed seeing Conner and Gavin though. I got to spend time with just Shauna and then stopped by again with Ben and the kids on our way back home. I sure miss living close to her.

We had such an amazing time in Utah. So many memories that we will cherish forever. One thing we will never forget, but NOT cherish happened in Idaho. We were almost to Boise when our car's air conditioning broke. We spent a few hours in Boise trying multiple things to fix it, to no avail. The last 6 hours of the drive were miserable. It was night time but it was still hot. We would leave the windows down to get some air but it was really loud, so we would close the windows and it would immediately turn into a sauna. The kids were trying to sleep and everyone was suffering. The only thing getting us through was the thought that we would soon be home to our air conditioned house. I had my dad go by earlier in the day to turn our AC back on so it would be nice and cool. We finally got home around 1 in the morning, walked in the door and was hit by a wall of heat. Our AC in the house had decided to break as well! I guess there had been a massive heat wave and our unit just couldn't keep up. I about had a nervous breakdown. We opened all the windows (it was cooler outside by this point), and decided to have the kids sleep downstairs. We collected all our fans and placed them in the windows as well. Once I got the kids settled I went and took a cold shower and cried while Ben looked at the AC unit. He researched what might be wrong with it and had it fixed by 9 am the next morning. Thank goodness! First world problems right there.
