Utah!

Before I was even born my Grandfather (on my dad's side) had bought a couple rooms at a timeshare in Snowbird. It was always the same rooms and always the same week. Any year he wasn't using it, the siblings would get to rotate through it. The earliest I remember going was when I was eight. It was such a magical place. The mountains, or course, are always beautiful, and being kind of secluded up there is really cool. There wasn't a ton to do up there when we were little, so us kids had to get creative and use our imaginations. We had so many amazing memories up there. When my dad found out it was our year to use the rooms we jumped at the chance. It was really sentimental, realizing that James was the same age I was when I made my first Snowbird memories.

Ready for the long drive
We stayed in a hotel in Boise and the kids loved it, of course.
We made it!

This is where I win the "worst mom" award. I was trying to get a decent picture of Avery and she was being a little grumpy so I said something along the lines of "what if I let you see Justin Beiber?" She thought this meant I had bought tickets to see him in concert. You can see how her mood changed when I told her that wasn't the case. Instead of consoling her, I was taking pictures of her meltdown. She cheered up after a bit and doesn't hold it against me now.

See, she's totally fine!

We took a couple really cool hikes.

Our home away from home

Avery and James love taking pictures. We just handed them the camera and they got some amazing shots! Avery took all these flower ones.

This is Cecret Lake (yes, it really is spelled this way). Bethany and I did this hike with our Grandpa and Dad when we were little. I don't remember it being so hard when I was younger! The kids were running up the mountain like it was nothing. The adults took a little longer.

One of my bestest friends and her kids came up to visit, and then we spent a day at Seven Peaks with them. We miss them so dearly.

They really were happy to be there!
The kids panned for gemstones and then made necklaces out of the gems they found.

I love how Briella is looking at Gavin
And then again at Conner

We also got to spend some time with Ben's sister and her awesome kids. My kids still miss them.

Avery and Daphne giving me the big eyes like their stuffed animals

We miss all these people already, we need to plan another trip.

Somehow I haven't been able to get your blog for a couple of months, so I really, REALLY enjoyed these photo-fests. It warms a grannie's heart!

What beautiful children (but what else could we expect?) And what a paunchy grandma (but what else could we expect?)
