I survived!

This week wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! The kids didn't ask for the tv at all, which was a huge surprise for me, I seriously thought they would have a hard time with it. I lasted with the "no tv" until Friday night - Ben had a scout camp-out and I was bored out of my mind, so I worked on getting caught up when I couldn't sleep. Ok, so I did have a bit of a breakdown Thursday night - I was paranoid that our DVR would run out of space (I would not have done this experiment without having that) and had to turn the tv on, just to check. When I saw we were really low on space I made Ben get rid of about 15 hours of Gold panning shows (seriously, I'm not even joking), but then turned it back off. I did have to get on my email twice to deal with some T-ball stuff but I made a point to not go on any blogs, which was horribly tempting.

This is what we did this week:

A lot of this

and this

and this

and this

and this

This little girl mastered the army crawl and is now ALL over the place.

And these are some of the things I accomplished:
you should have seen them before hand :)

All in all, it was a great week. I didn't even do half of the things on my list so I think I'm going to instigate a "no tv" day each week so I'm motivated to get it all done. And a huge thank you to whoever invented TIVO!

I'm glad you made it. Well done. I'm trying to convince Jon that we should go without TV for May. We'll see how that goes. We love the picture of Avery by the tulips.

Congratulations! I can't believe you did it! But it looks like you guys did a lot of really quality stuff. How did you keep the kids out of your hair while you were working/cooking??

What a great week! It reminds me of when I was a kid and there WAS no TV, no radio, only old 78 RPM records of classical music to which I used to dance my 3-8 year old version of ballet. We played all day and had a great time.!

You absolutely MUST send that picture of James and Avery in the tulips to some children/parents magazine. It's fantastic! maybe Ben could lighten up the kids in the foreground. What a classic!

Wow, Avery is beautiful with long hair. She is going to give you MASSIVE TROUBLE ten years from now!

Forget about the TV, are those big blue eyes that Briella has? I thought they hadn't decided what color they were going to be!
