If you think it's bad now...

So the kids were watching a show this morning and all was well, until Avery got mad at James. Avery has had a bit of a problem lately with sharing and taking turns. It got down right nasty the other day and poor James has the battle wound to prove it - but that's another story.

Today though, it all started with the alphabet. They were watching Super Why, a totally cute show about four super friends solving puzzles in story books. They find letters throughout the story that then spell the answer to their puzzle. Both kids get totally into, pretending they're different characters and acting out what happens on the screen. When they find the letters, James loves to yell them out and that's all fine, or so I thought.

Avery became irate that James got to say them before her. I paused the tv so Avery could have a turn but she would get even madder if James tried to help her. She was crying hysterically at one point because James was helping her. When the show ended I asked James to turn off the tv, which he did with the remote. This led to another screaming fit from Avery because SHE wanted to do it. I let her turn on the tv, only to turn it off again.

James looked at me all exasperated and said, "mom, girls don't make any sense."

Oh, just you wait James, just you wait.

Oh dear. I'm not sure if that's more of a girl thing or a 2nd child thing. Although Daphne is definitely more of a drama queen than Beck, I see Beck throw more "I want to do what she's doing" fits. Good times!
