Some friends invited us to join them in sharing a house for the weekend up in Port Townsend. We started off the adventure with digging for clams near the Dungeness Spit. All the kids did such a good job!
The house was amazing. There was plenty of space for all the families and super cool rooms for the kids. There were tunnels in the walls that led to playrooms and slides. One of the rooms was filled with these blocks that the kids built towers out of. Everyone got along famously. We had wonderful meals and late night chats and games.

Since we were so close to the ferry, we decided to spend one day in Victoria, B.C. I had been a couple times and Avery had been once. We've been wanting to go as a whole family and now was the perfect time! I didn't plan very well and the drive was actually longer than I thought. We were almost out of gas and almost out of time. We made it to the ferry with 10 minutes to spare.
We walked all over town. I took them to my favorite shops and sights. The British Candy Shoppe was a must. We got out fill of bonbons and orange Kit Kats.
Then we walked over to Beacon Hill Park. We had such lovely weather and enjoyed the day immensely.
The ferry ride back was spent reading and sleeping. When we were leaving, the couple that was sitting across from us approached and complimented us on our kids. They said they had never seen such well-behaved, book-loving children. I think we wore them out with all the walking so they were too tired to not just sit quietly.
