Lately

For Valentine's Day Ben and I set the table and treated the kids like they were at a fancy restaurant. All of the food we served them was shaped like hearts, which they got a kick out of. For dessert we scooped out some ice cream and let them go hog wild on the toppings. Needless to say their eyes were bigger than their stomachs!

James has taken to Cub Scouts like a duck to water. Big surprise there! I'm his Den Leader and Ben is the Cub Committe Chair - so I took it upon myself to plan the Blue and Gold Banquet. It was stressful but totally worth it when I saw how excited James was to get his belt loops. This Cub world is all new to me and I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Avery is doing this cute thing where she lines up every single Littlest Pet Shop animal and Squinkies character on every single piece of dollhouse furniture she owns. She loves playing pretend with them and has a vivid imagination. She is also very particular about her toys. When she puts them away they have to go, in a certain order, in a certain container. I have no idea where she gets that :)

This is only about a quarter of her collection

This has become Briella's outfit of choice on a daily basis. With all the years of dance the girls have taken we've accumulated a mass of leotards and tutus and Briella is putting them to good use. She'll switch it up and wear different colors but she likes it best when the leotard matches the tutu. And yes, I take her out in public like this. I think it's the cutest thing ever and she LOVES the attention she gets from it. The funny thing is I always wanted my girls to love dress up and Avery didn't like it as much, so Briella is making up for that in spades!

For April Fool's day Ben and I decided to play a prank on the kids. While they were in their rooms we put saran wrap on the door frame, and then hung crepe paper all over the place. I kept picturing them opening up their doors, running into the saran wrap and bouncing off of it. I could not stop laughing. It didn't go exactly like that. They were confused by the crepe paper at first and then annoyed that they couldn't get out of their rooms. So we thought we were hilarious, the kids...not so much :)

I like the crepe paper idea. What fun parents you are. Boring old me didn't even acknowledge that it was a special day.

Oh, you guys are soooooo Cute! And naturally your kids are gorgeous! What creative and fun parents! (It's a bummer to have April Fools on Conference Sunday, but that didn't stop you!)

Glad you're having fun with Cubs! Now if we could only keep you from stressing over all projects!

Man! I would like to know why my blog replies all show "Financial Aid for College", instead of "Fairy Grandmother, which is just as legitimate." Any ideas, Ben?

That's the best decorated and beautiful blue and gold banquet I've seen! And sooo funny with the wrap on the kids doors. I bet you peed a little just setting it up :)
