Who would have thought

If you had asked me 15 years ago what commercialized toy my own kids would be obsessed with I would never had guessed Pokemon.

I find myself now listening to James talk about characters and levels and powers, exactly how I remember my little brothers talking about it - 15 years ago.

I wish I had bought stock in it back then.

Rather than shun it, I've decided to embrace it. When James told me he wanted to start a club I said go for it. When he said he wanted to have a party I said sure.  When he told me the schedule for his party/club I had to admire his enthusiasm and planning skills (I wonder where he got it).

I give you the club members:

James had three requests for this party. That I print out a ton of pictures for each boy to color, have time to trade cards and watch a Pokemon show.

Here they are all watching a show, holding their cards. It was seriously the cutest thing ever.
I thought it would be a one-time deal...but no...the boys are all requesting weekly, if not bi-weekly meetings.

Seriously, who would have thought.

Didn't he say he wants to do it weekly until his birthday too? I love their binders. That's the coolest!

You are too-cool for encouraging their little club! And James, as usual, is as RED as he can be. He'll run his own company (or the world) someday. I'm glad he is going for it. And, as usual, what a good Mama you are!

Maybe you could throw in some additional activities for the club to lead them in other positive directions besides just Pokemon. A club for enthusiastic little boys is such a great thing!
